Meet The Team

Ryan Chase is the 2nd generation to head Valley Floors. Started by his father, Dean, Valley Floors has been in business for over 40 years. When Dean decided he wanted to slow down just a little bit, Ryan moved forward to purchase Valley Floors and carry on the tradition of exceptional quality in product and service. With a full-time staff of over 20 employees, Ryan’s day is NEVER dull. On top of the challenges of running a successful business, Ryan is passionately involved in the community. He feels it is vitally important to be actively involved in community affairs. He LOVES participating in events that bring families together. Ryan is involved in local government, and recently purchased a building on Main Street in Bradford, VT rather than see a vacant storefront sit idle.

While attending college in Colorado, he had no intention of ever moving back home. His goal was to become a school principal or get involved in politics. Eventually, he realized his hometown of Bradford, family, and friends, were important. “One of the things I love most about running Valley Floors is working with the outstanding team here. Knowing that this business’s success allows people to purchase homes, get married, and stay in this tight-knit community is what gets me up in the morning. I am grateful every day for the support from our customers.” Ryan also has two beautiful children that keep him constantly on his toes!

Not to be confused with the famous actor! Tony has been in the flooring business for so long, we often ask if he played with tile squares rather than wooden blocks as a baby. Previously, he owned a successful flooring business for many years. That experience led Tony to holding a key position here at Valley Floors. His expert eye is critically important to the success of our installation projects. He visits your home, or business to measure the project space, determine the correct course of action for proper installation, and develops the plan to deliver your dream. This ensures the installation teams have the details they need to artfully install your selections. From wood floor sanding & finishing, carpet, tile, laminate or vinyl. Tony has a deep understanding of the advantages or limitations of all the available choices.

Scott began his career at Valley Floors in 2013. He was working as a general manager for another local business. Looking for a change, he asked one of his customers, Dean Chase, founder of Valley Floors, if he would write a letter of recommendation. Dean told him he was happy to, but perhaps Scott would like to join Valley Floors instead. Dean knows a good thing when he sees it! Scott joined the team as an installer, working with the various materials. It quickly became evident that Scott had natural leadership ability. Over time, he developed the knowledge to hold one of the most key positions in the organization. Scott manages the schedules for all our various installation teams. He is the point of contact for the customer after an order is placed.

“My favorite part of my job is solving problems, and handling the daily challenges. It could be anything from an installer with a problem on a job site, to a builder hiring us as a subcontractor with very little lead time”. Scott is the Valley Floors, “fire department”. Scott lives in the area with his longtime partner and their blended family. Scott also volunteers as a mentor for local youth. He sought out this special opportunity because he sees so many young people struggle with difficult home lives.

Chris is another member of the Chase family involved in Valley Floors. Just like his brother Ryan, Chris has been a hands-on member of a family that takes attention to detail and quality very seriously. Chris is renowned for his tile work. Most recently, he led the introduction of custom shower glass to the Valley Floors product mix. We realized the frustration clients were having in finding the same quality workmanship they’ve come to expect from Valley Floors in the shower glass segment in our area. Adding glass enclosures was a natural fit. Chris is the ideal person to lead, since he has such vast experience in handling highly custom installations.

Chris will come to the jobsite take precision measurements and follow through with the installation right down to cleaning the glass until it sparkles!

Chris is married and has three grown daughters. He loves being outside and taking advantage of the natural beauty of VT.

Jennifer “Jenn” has worked at Valley Floors since 2019. She grew up in Windsor, the birthplace of VT. However, she has lived in the Bradford area for over 30 years. She has children, grandchildren, and a menagerie of pets that includes a field mouse that often shows up in the strangest places!

Jenn has a strong background in sales & finance. “I love hearing back from clients when they tell me I helped make their ideas come to life.”

Most surprising to Jen when she began her career with Valley Floors, is how much there is to know about the various flooring types. “I learn something new every day!”

John is one of Valley Floors’ more senior employees. In over 21 years, he has held just about every position including estimating, warehouse management, ordering, and “other duties as required”. John’s attention to detail is magnificent. Because of his vast product knowledge, he is perfectly suited to assist anyone with their flooring project. John lives in NH with his wife. In his spare time, he loves to create decorative items using scrap wood, and ferments his own kombucha.

Deb has been with Valley Floors for over 20 years. She & her husband, Dean, the founder of Valley Floors, have recently purchased a home in Newbury, VT. Deb’s passions (other than her husband) are decorating and renovating. So much so, their previous home was featured in a national magazine!

With her years of experience, Deb has seen many trends come & go. She has traveled to trade shows and has relationships with leaders in the flooring and tile industries. She bends over backward to help her clients create the most beautiful spaces imaginable. Deb takes the time to learn about her client’s lifestyle. “I hear them describe pets, children, housekeeping habits, anything goes! With that in mind, I can guide the client through all the options that check all the boxes.”

Her favorite part of her job, is getting a phone call telling her that the project turned out more beautiful than the client could have ever imagined.

Greg came to Valley Floors from a VERY unrelated background! He is well known in the area (kind of a celebrity really), due in part to being a life-long resident of the Bradford/Newbury, VT area. When he isn’t helping people find just the right solution to their window shade challenges, he most enjoys spending time outdoors. Hunting, cruising around with his fiancée enjoying the views, are tops on his list. Greg has been at Valley Floors for three years and enjoys the variety of products and genuine friendliness of the staff.
